Q1: What is the difference between DFR and DR control on A4VSO?
A1: DR controls pressure only (spring or pilot set) and the pump typically runs at max displacement until pressure is reached. DFR adds a flow control pilot port (Y) so displacement — and thus flow — can be commanded by hydraulic pilot pressure, enabling load-sense operation and on-demand flow.
Q2: Can DFR be used without connecting pilot port Y?
A2: It can, but the pump will default to maximum displacement (or minimum if X is active). To benefit from flow control, port Y should receive a pilot pressure proportional to the desired flow demand, typically from a load-sensing valve or pilot pressure reducer.
Q3: What is the difference between PPB13 and PPB25?
A3: Both are SAE flanges/ports. PPB13 is the compact SAE port size, suited to manifold blocks on skid-mounted HPUs; PPB25 uses larger SAE ports for high-flow piped connections. Pump performance is identical.
