Pilot-Operated Design (DBE6 vs. DBET)
This valve uses a two-stage design: a small direct-operated pilot stage controls a larger main spool stage. This allows it to handle high flows (30 L/min) with low hysteresis, making it suitable for main system relief applications. This is a key difference from the DBET series, which are only for pilot flow or very small circuits.
External Pilot Drain (Y)
The "Y" in the model code indicates external pilot drain. Port Y (pilot control oil drain) must be connected directly to tank with minimal backpressure. High backpressure at port Y will directly reduce the effective cracking pressure (P_effective = P_set - P_Y). This is critical for accurate pressure control.
Pressure Rating (315 bar)
The "315" denotes the maximum electrically adjustable pressure rating of 315 bar. The valve's mechanical pressure limit is higher (350 bar), providing a safety margin. The working pressure at port P must not exceed 350 bar.
External Electronics Required (/K4)
The suffix /K4 indicates a 3-pole plug socket for connection to an external control amplifier (e.g., Rexroth VT-5000 series). The valve itself has no on-board electronics (OBE), so you must provide an external amplifier that delivers the controlled current (up to ~1.76 A) to the solenoid.
Critical Installation Notes
External Amplifier: Mandatory. The valve cannot function without an external amplifier to drive the solenoid.
Subplate Mounting: Requires an NG6 subplate (ISO 4401-03-02-0-05). The valve itself has no integrated ports.
Return Line Pressure: Port T and Port Y must be kept at low pressure (ideally tank pressure). High backpressure will reduce the effective setting pressure.
