Unlike the DREE series, the DRE6X valve does not have integrated electronics (OBE). It requires an external proportional amplifier (e.g., Rexroth VT-5000 series or trigger electronics card) to convert a 0–10 V or 4–20 mA command signal into the coil current. The "8" in the code indicates a specific coil current rating (0.8 A).
High Reduced Pressure Rating (175 bar)
The "175" denotes the maximum electrically adjustable reduced pressure at port A. This is a mid-range variant, suitable for applications requiring higher secondary pressures than the 100 bar version but lower than the 210/310 bar variants.
Manual Override Feature (N)
The "N" in the suffix indicates the valve is equipped with a manual emergency override (manual operator). This allows you to mechanically actuate the valve for testing or emergency pressure relief even without electrical power.
3-Way Pressure Reducing Logic
This valve operates as a 3-port device (P, A, T). It continuously compares the A-port pressure with the electrical setpoint. If the load pressure at A tries to exceed the setpoint (e.g., due to an overrunning load), the valve opens the A→T path to "dump" the excess pressure and maintain regulation.
Critical Installation Notes
Amplifier Mandatory: You must provide an external amplifier. The Z4 connector on the valve only carries coil power from the amplifier.
Tank Line Backpressure: Port T must be connected to tank with minimal backpressure. High backpressure at T will be added to the A-port pressure, causing inaccurate regulation (P_A_effective = P_set + P_T_backpressure).
