Common causes include: no power supply to the solenoid, damaged wiring, incorrect control signal (e.g., 0-5 V instead of 0-10 V), or a faulty solenoid coil. Check wiring continuity and signal levels first.
Drain port leakage may result from excessive backpressure (exceeding 5 bar), worn seal rings, or internal spool damage. Ensure the drain line is unobstructed and check seal integrity.
Inconsistent flow can be due to contaminated hydraulic fluid (clogging the valve's orifices), fluctuating supply pressure, or a damaged proportional solenoid. Filter the fluid and inspect the solenoid for wear.
Overheating may occur from high pressure drops (exceeding the valve's rated ΔP), insufficient fluid flow through the valve, or a stuck spool. Reduce pressure drop and ensure adequate fluid circulation.
Noise can stem from cavitation (low fluid pressure), loose mounting bolts, or air in the hydraulic system. Bleed the system, check for leaks, and ensure the supply pressure is within the recommended range.
